Mary A. Hasse, 84, farmer, livestock producer
     
OROFINO -- Mary A. Hasse, 84, a longtime Teakean Ridge farmer and livestock producer, died of causes related to age Wednesday at Clearwater Valley Hospital here.
     
She was born May 19, 1915, at the family farm near Ferdinand to Michael and Anna Koetter Lauer. She graduated from Ferdinand High School in 1933.
     
She worked on the family farm until she married Henry Hasse Sept. 10, 1940.
     
They farmed and raised pigs on Teakean Ridge until they retired. Her husband died June 22, 1998, and she remained on the farm until her death.
     
She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and driving around the countryside.
     
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
     
She was preceded in death by a son, Henry Jo; seven brothers, Mathias, Herman, Henry, Werner, Tony, Martin and Thomas Lauer; and one sister, Theresa Walser.
     
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Uhlorn Funeral Home at Cottonwood.
     
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Teakean Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. George King of St. Theresa Catholic Church of Orofino presiding.
     
Memorials may be sent to Clearwater Valley Hospital.
